My Doula Did Not Help Me

There has been a lot of talk about doulas and the benefits of having one. When I was pregnant last year, I decided to hire one mainly for emotional and birth support.

Little did I know that the doula I hired would have poor service.

Initially, I was excited about having a doula because we had some things in common. As time went on, I noticed some things that rubbed me the wrong way. She missed meetings that we had planned, there was a lack of communication on her part, and it seemed like she was scheduling everything around her life. I did not feel like my doula made me a priority.

I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt but I eventually confronted her and when I did she made excuses. Watch my video below to hear more details.
